america? from the beginning of the obama care debate i've been telling you it's not the cost of the health insurance that will be the main problem. yes, the cost is going to go higher for working americans, no question, but it is access to doctors that will vex americans in the future. in the next five weeks millions of americans will be added to the medicaid rolls. next year the congressional budget office predicts that 9 million more people will be receiving medicaid. just 69 percent of american doctors accept medicaid now. that number may go lower as government payments drop. if millions are added to the medicaid rolls and two-thirds accept those patients, the lines are going to be all over the place. joining us from oklahoma city, dr. keith smith who has a surgery practice and dr. brooks. dr. brooks, you don't take medicaid health insurance at all, correct? >> that's correct, bill. >> why? >> i don't think i can do a thorough job. i don't believe in running people through my practice. i don't believe in volume practice and the new laws really would necessitate my pushing people through

president obama's deadline to get a sick patient back on its feet -- health care website. it's been getting emergency car since it began life in critical condition two months ago. after the disastrous start that cost the president a big dip in poll numbers, he promised to have it work by the end of november, this past weekend. karen traverse explains that the website seems to be working tonight. >> reporter: since its launch two months ago, health care.goff has be-- healthcare.gov has bee plagued by system crashes and slow speeds. the obama administration says the site's on the mend. >> we were able to make the necessary improvement to the website so the vast majority of americans who use the website have an experience in which the site functions effectively. >> reporter: the white house set a deadline of december 1st to reach the goal. over the weekend, it released a report touting what it says is significant progress. some 400 software bugs and hardware problems have been fixed. it's now accessible 90% of the time, that's up from just over 40% in october. the website can now handl

health care system. conservatives and liberals agree that the health care system before obama care was a mess. but democrats wrongly associated those failures with a market failure. it wasn't a failure of markets. we hardly had a market at all. we didn't have a lot of competitive pressures to hold down prices or give consumers options. pointing out the price source of the problem is the first step towards the right solution. so it doesn't make sense the way we pay for health care. i believe we have some of the highest quality health care in the world. but our payment system is what needs addressing. the third-party payment system, the fact that i use a health insurance company to pay for my well checks, things i get on a regular basis makes no sense. pointing to those problems and coming up with solutions for those problems instead of rearranging everything -- >> i agree with the market approach. but i want to come back to lanny davis because you are one clever, wise chap. >> thank you. >> lanny, if i were running for office and i am not, but if i were running in 2014 as a republic

states, the only state that did put up its own state-run website for people to buy health insurance was kentucky, where the democratic governor of kentucky wholeheartedly embraced the whole idea of obama care, right, and who famously, the citizens of kentucky have reaped the benefit. kentucky now leads the nation in new sign-ups for health insurance, and that would be huge anywhere. it is a particularly huge deal for a state whose population is as unhealthful as kentucky's is. i don't mean any offense by it, but kentucky's population ranks at the bottom or toward the bottom of the nation's health ratings in lots and lots and lots of different categories, and kentucky has a lot of uninsured people. and it's the exact same deal two states over in mississippi, but in these two states, in the same part of the country, with the same health problems in their populations and a lot of the same challenges, one of them, kentucky, is now best in the nation in terms of people getting health insurance, and one of them, mississippi, is now worst in the nation, and not because they wouldn't know h
